Weekend in Tulsa

We were about due for a get-off-campus and get-out-of-town trip and last weekend was perfect! One of our marriage goals is to attend a conference/retreat once a year together that will be an investment in our relationship. This year the retreat fell on Valentine's weekend with a romance getaway in Tulsa, OK. (It's about 2 hours from us). Eagle Family Ministries is a local non-profit investing in families and relationships and we were happy to join them in Tulsa with about 8 other couples. We stayed at the Renaissance Hotel which met my hotel snob standards :) (Of course, it is a Marriott property after all)
A few highlights of our weekend-
Eating: Cheddars, Ted's Cafe Escondito, Chipotle, Panera and Krispy Kreme (I tried to support DONUT but they were closed on Sunday, what's up with that? )
Shopping: We picked up Sweet Pea's car seat and stroller thanks to Grandma and Grandpa Manz and some sweet February coupons! Here are the car seat and stroller.
We also went to JoAnn's Fabric store and picked out the material for the nursery gear. Here are a few sneek previews of what Oma will be sewing when she visits next month.
Investing: The retreat was awesome and we really enjoyed spending time together and not talking about work. The homework assignments given I would encourage other married folk to commit to: kiss for 10 seconds a day, hug for 30 seconds a day.
It was a refreshing getaway and excellent way to spend our Valentine's.
