For the Love of Pizza

Everyone seems to have their favorite pizza place in life. Maybe favorite delivery, favorite eat-in. When I think about the towns I have lived in I can recall which pizza places were my favorite to frequent. It's a staple. Well when we moved to Fayetteville almost 2 1/2 years ago, my co-worker Rosa recommended Cable Car Pizza to us. It took us a few months to get out to the place, but once we did we were hooked! If our budget and belt lines could afford it we would probably be there once a week, but we try to go every other week instead.

So the thing I love most about Cable Car is its owners- Mr. and Mrs. Reynolds. Jane is retired and Ray has been practicing law in this town for over 30 years. On Friday and Saturday nights they come to the pizzeria and work. Ray sits in his stool by the door taking phone orders and Jane waits on tables. We always try and challenge our friends to get to the bottom of their soda glass before Jane has grabbed it for a refill again- nearly impossible!

When you are away from family like us, you seek out good people in your community to serve in this role. Cable Car has become our pizza family. They tracked alongside our pregnancy with us, counting down the weeks and when we didn't come for a few they knew the day must have come. When we walk in with Heath now they always comment on his latest growth, his big smile, his pretty eyes. Their grandkids are in Seattle and so I think we both fill a role for each other. When my family comes in town to visit, we always make sure we take them to Cable Car and they love the pizza and company just as much as we do!
