Heath's Golden Birthday

Perhaps turning 3 on the 3rd is not quite as significant as his Mamma's turning 30 on the 30th this year- but Heath and I have shared our golden birthdays this year! Monday Heath turned 3, reminding us of all the ways he is growing in independence.

We started the day off with a special birthday waffle at none other than Waffle House. We pass it every day on the way to school and every day Heath yells out the window "Waffle House!!" when it is in sight. He was pretty pumped to have the candle and the staff played a birthday song for him on the loudspeaker. 

That afternoon J was able to pick Heath up from school early and take him to play in the "swing park" as H calls it. They took a short break to come and get me from work and eat dinner on our back porch, but then we went back to play more!

The Chinn girls joined us at the park and this is the best picture I could capture with all three of them- they are not standing still for longer than 5 seconds and were running all directions having a great time!

At the end of the night Heath opened his present from Oma and Opa which gave us two new books to read for bedtime and this 'Bad to the Bone' music card which he slept with and used as our alarm at 6:20 the next morning. 

Our tot is growing up! One helpful thing about being 3 is that at school they refer to the '3s' in the other room- an exciting unknown place that some times Heath will get to play in. The '3s' use the potty and wear big boy underwear. Well, guess who is 3 now? We are making some good strides in potty training upon the arrival of this 3rd birthday!
