For a west coast girl who hasn't been around the rough and tumble of midwest storms this was a little frightening. Somebody said they are called biscuit clouds- and the whole sky was covered in them. They say it is a sign of instability in the envrionment and something is coming.

There is a tornado brewing with winds 70-90 mph north of us. Here is a local shot from the webcam across from my office. I'm in the upper left corner office with the light on, but considering going somewhere without windows. As I was taking this picture shot a huge lightening bolt lit the sky. It is actually much darker than what the webcam picture shows.

1) I remember those days fondly - I love the storms and stormy weather though I am way more afraid of tornadoes than earthquakes! (but if you ask around your office, they will all say earthquakes are scarier, funny huh? I think it depends where you grew up!)
ReplyDelete2) I just accessed that webcam and its totally the coolest webcam ever.
3) Looks like the storm is almost passed. Glad you survived!
