It is a rainy day in Fayetteville! We are thankful that our building is all moved in, but it is unfortunate for the others on campus who have move in this morning. Here is a segment of the radar- pretty sure the red is directly over campus right now, we are getting heavy drops.
The webcam outside of the Union is drenched, but you can see past the waterspots things are still blurry because it is coming down in sheets!
I love days like this! I get nastalgic thinking about my northwest days and how rain was a way of life. I still use my pullover raincoat here and avoid umbrellas. I remember people commenting on the movie Sleepless in Seattle when it rains and Tom Hanks uses an umbrella to bring the groceries in- people said "he is not from the Northwest!" Hope everyone out there is warm and dry today!
I hear ya, Lynds! I love a little rain, too (and even more I love those big midwestern storms as long as not accompanied by tornadoes or straight-line winds). The one thing I miss/don't like about living in LA is that there is almost virtually no rain. It just never rains (one time, for 10 minutes, in the last 6+ months).
ReplyDeleteI'm partly looking forward to the ASHE conference in Vancouver this November just because I know it will be grey and rainy!
LOL - northwesterners are weird, aren't we!
Enjoy the storms and the start of the new year! May God be with and guide you and Jonathan as you minister there!
