What's in a Name?

We thought it would be fun to include our residents in the naming adventure and collect their suggestions. We updated the bulletin board outside our apartment to announce we are having a boy! For many of the residents this was the first they had heard we were pregnant since I wasn't showing much of a belly during the fall semester. It has been so fun to hear their conversations outside our door as they stand and ponder names or read what others have written. You can see that we have gathered quite the collection!

Here is a close up of one of my personal favorites- Lemonjello with the correct pronunciation below it. We have also had many attempts to play on Manz: Hugh-Manz, Aquah-Manz, Spydah-Manz. I mean we did ask 18 years olds for their thoughts. .. and they are enjoying sharing their creativity with us!

In the update everyone has been asking- nope we aren't anywhere close to picking a name for sweet pea. We are enjoying the suggestion phase and taking a look at all the options. Still plenty of time left for the deciding. I predict we'll have something by May.

  1. Have a friend with a boy named Xavier, I think they chose it because his parents were missionaries in China and he was a missionary in Japan.

  2. It is like fate, because just as I was thinking "Hugh Manz" is an AWESOME name! I looked at the closeup and saw that MY name was right underneath it. And while it is totally not appropriate for a boy, it is almost like I wrote "HUGH" in giant letters on your bulletin board. So fun.

Can't wait to hear this little one's name when the time comes!

  3. So funny! My favorite recommendation so far was from Jonathan's brother. Home D. Poe. So wrong.
