AMAZING.
Thanks to Grandparents Manz driving up from GA to spend the weekend with Heath, we got to take a parents-only trip up north to celebrate (albeit delayed) our anniversary. What a refreshing trip that was just to sleep in at a hotel room with black-out curtains and not worry about taking care of the tot. Add onto that sightseeing of a beautiful city that I had never visited before, a 13-2 win for the Pirates, and a shopping extravaganza to hit up every discount store for Steelers gear and we had a GREAT time.
Below are a few of my favorite shots from the trip. The tunnel opening onto downtown Pittsburgh was not a disappointment. We had a classic sandwich at Primanti Bros- they show this being made before many Steeler games with coleslaw and french fries right on the patty. We took in Sunday afternoon's baseball game with a Pirate win over the Giants. We sat in front of some hilarious locals- I likened them to the PIT version of Matt Damon's Good Will Hunting friend group. It totally added to the enjoyment of the game listening to their commentary! After the baseball game we walked over the Heinz field and took in where the Steelers play.

We probably went into 4 Walmarts, a few grocery stores, sports stores, and a KMart looking for Steeler gear at a good price. We picked up some great items. The motherload was found down the street from our hotel at a second hand kid's store- Once Upon A Child. They had a whole section of Steelers gear from newborn to Kids Large. Heath got some great stuff for $2 and $3 and I even fit into a few of their big kids shirts for a great steal!
We can't wait for fall kickoff!
