This plan was created after a writer for Grey's Anatomy had trouble loosing her pregnancy weight. She couldn't follow the healthy guidelines alone so her doctor made it into a game and she competed against someone. She wrote a book about it and now others have joined. You team up and the game lasts 4 weeks. You get points for eating the correct meals each day, drinking water, getting sleep, exercising 20 min a day, communicating with your teammates and opponents, starting a good habit, dropping a bad, etc.
Jonathan and I have never 'been on a diet,' nor do we consider ourselves obese, but we both wanted to drop the baby weight that was picked up over the last year. This game also gives you one day off a week and one meal off, so we thought it was pretty doable. We are three weeks in and I have dropped 7 lbs- putting me under my pre-Heath weight :) Jonathan is still in bed so hasn't weighed in yet for this week but he had dropped 5 lbs as of last week. We are pretty happy with it and so is our friend Adam who joined us. We had some opponents lined up but they wanted to wait until after the busy season of training and move in, so we went ahead without them, kind of as a trial run. The website for the book has some of the info, like the foods you can eat http://www.thegameondiet.com/. If you are interested in playing the game let me know and I'll send you more information.
