It was meant to be...

My office has a business membership to Sam's Club so I was able to borrow it and get a few great deals for our house- wipes, cheese sticks, cocoa almonds. We were really happy with some of the finds that we went again last weekend. Earlier in the week, our blender broke. This is the 3rd blender in our 2 year marriage to bite the dust. (RAs tried to blend hard cheese in it this time). As much as we love smoothies, milkshakes and salsa we decided to do some research on professional-grade blenders. The options came down to 2- vita-mix and blendtec. If you know Jonathan and I, we like to research and read reviews and ask around, but then we are ready to buy. Same thing happened when we bought the altima.

So we went to Sam's that day and thought we'd casually see what they carried- two no-name brands we weren't impressed with. We kept walking to the fridge section and soon heard a sales pitch over a speaker. For 10 days only Blendtec was at Sam's selling their blenders. You may have seen their youtube videos from their site Will it Blend? Yep- the same blender that can demolish a rake handle in 15 seconds now sits in our kitchen. This blender is an investment, but also comes with a 7 year warranty (lifetime warranty on the blade).

Not only can you make smoothies and milkshakes- this thing can make ice cream and hot soup too! It is incredible and we are both a little bit in love. (By the way- Blendtec is the same blender that Jamba Juice uses).

  2. So cool! We would love one of those! I just don't think we use blenders enough to justify the cost. However, the Richardsons have the Blendtec and they LOVE it! They made all Syler's baby food in it.
